High School diploma or recognized equivalent and one journeyman level industrial/commercial craft/trade as approved by FOAM management (i.e. Plumbing, Mechanical, HVAC, Structural, Instrumentation/Electronics, Refrigeration, Electronics/Fire Alarms) demonstrated by one of the following:
: Texas state license or approved equal license with two years experience at journeymen level
: Recognized apprentice program or trade school with two years experience at journeymen level
: Community college certification, or associate degree in a related field with two years experience at journeymen level
: NCCER training program or other UTMB approved certification with two years experience at journeymen level
Licensure/certification/degree options listed above can be substituted by 8 years Industrial/Heavy Commercial experience in at least one craft (Job information and references are required to validate 8 years Industrial/ Heavy Commercial experience relative to our environment). Must be capable of demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job in a post:offer employment test as administered by UTMB Rehab Services. This job requires the ability to lift up to 100 lbs. floor to knuckle and requires frequent bending, standing and walking.
Perform at a journeyman level in at least one distinct industrial/commercial trade crafts (Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, Structural, Instrumentation/Electronics, Refrigeration, Electronics/Fire Alarms) for maintenance and repair of specialized equipment and machinery.

Specific Job Related Duties
: Proactively maintains all aspects of assigned area of responsibility.
: Consults with customers on priority of work and assume full ownership of customer problems and equipment breakdowns. Serves as liaison between customer and Facilities Operations and Management (Physical Plant).
: Performs detailed inspections of equipment for proper operation. Informs appropriate supervisory or managerial personnel of unusual conditions, problems or deficiencies and takes appropriate action.
: Performs major repairs on technical systems and supporting equipment.
: Starts up, shuts down and adjusts equipment or systems in accordance with established operational and safety procedures.
: Performs preventative or corrective maintenance tasks as assigned and within timelines.
: Identifies maintenance needs and performs pro:active repairs before breakdown occurs.
